My name is Andrea and I live in Nampa, Idaho and am married to my truck lovin’ husband of 6 years. We are blessed to have two beautiful red-headed daughters ages 5 and 3. I am a 3rd grade teacher who loves to read books, craft, and watch movies. You can find me spending time with my family or enjoying a cup of coffee with my friends.

What I like most about crafting is that natural high that I receive after I have finished a project. I love working with products to create a work of art. My favorite thing would have to be the look on someone’s face as they are looking at the art piece that I have hand-crafted especially for them.

I have been scrapbooking off and on for the past 12 years. It all started with a Creative Memories party as the story often goes. I soon grew out of Creative Memories and now I find myself buried in cardstock, patterned paper, and lots of fun embellishments! My style is fun and sometimes a little quirky. I love to hi-light my photographs and I work really hard to capture a special moment in time be it a photo of one of my daughter’s birthday or a simple flower.

It's hard to narrow it down, but I am giant fan of Basic Grey, American Crafts, Heidi Swapp, and Prima to name a few. My favorite techniques include distressing with sandpaper and ink, stamping, and layering. I also enjoy a good hand cut embellishment as well.

I in no way shape or form scrap chronologically! It’s always a photo that drives my creativity. I start with a photo and then find patterned paper, then add an embellishment, some distressing, and journaling. I usually don’t snack on anything but I have been known to snack on peanut M&Ms while drinking some water, a chai tea, or a Dr. Pepper. I find my inspiration all around me whether it be through my family, books I read, looking at on-line galleries, perusing flickr or a really great magazine. I am often inspired by a great quote or a really cool color combination as well.

If I was stranded on an remote island... I would first start off by making sure my camera was with me followed by the ever important adhesive, an endless supply of Basic Grey papers & Bazzill cardstock, my Making Memories paper cutter, my Cuttlebug and embossing folders, a black ultra fine point marker, some Stickles, and Thickers... wait... you said a short list, right?! Oh well, what’s a creative girl to do? Scrap right?!!

JUDGE'S NOTES:

Fun style with unique vision. Andrea’s work stood apart because of her inventive uses of her scrapbooking supplies. Very memorable style, her handmade embellishments really tickle my creativity.- I mean did you SEE the wings she made out of bird and paisley die cuts!? This girl rocks! I’m really impressed with the way she added a small little something extra on everything she designed- and did so in a way that you don’t notice at first, but you soon realize that they are helping to hold your attention. Love the paint doodles on the ‘fly’ layout... Love the pearls on the bird on the photo project... Love the stitched frame on the pink card!
