My name is Michelle Price and I live in Meridian, Idaho. I am the mother or 2 adorable kids ages 5 & 3. One boy and one girl. I work PT at a charter airplane company and spend my nights scrapbooking. I love to sew and read good books also. Someday I hope to have my own studio in my house with floor to ceiling shelves of patterned paper and fabric lining the walls, more embellishments than I can dream of, magic packages of American Crafts Thickers that never run out of E's and a Diet Pepsi fountain in the corner.

I have been scrapbooking for about 7 years. I have a hard time defining my style. I guess It's just "My Style." I like things distressed and layered and I like to follow the trends. My favorite technique would be distressing and making lollipop style flowers out of patterned paper. I love scrapbooking for the creative outlet. As a child I loved new school supplies. I can remember smelling my new notebooks and being so thrilled. A little weird I know, but I guess this is the natural progression of that. Now I smell my patterned paper.

If I were stranded with my scrapbook supplies I would want the latest Basic Grey, lots of ribbon and rub-ons and a magic handwriting improvement so I could make my own titles and doodles.

My favorite manufacturer is Basic Grey. I love the distressed look of their lines. I also like the funky look of Hambly and always love everything that October Afternoon puts out.

I love to use sketches as a starting point for creating. They give me just the right amount of inspiration without taking all the fun out of coming up with my own ideas. Lately I find that I see things that inspire me everywhere. A sign or TV commercial or store logo will make me want to go home and adapt it to a page. I am becoming aware of the fact that I am truly obsessed.

JUDGE'S NOTES:

The bold striking good looks of Michelle’s work are riveting. Each piece is like a study in technique execution AND maintaining a balanced design. Highly scrap-lift able, great design. The fun mix of products, and an inventive technique or trick, and great little details makes you want to try it yourself. I love the concept of the photo memory project, and her work is stunningly fashionable.
