Mixed Media: Monogram Yarn Letter

 

Shopping List

  • Unfinished Wood Frame (Sch-301)
  • MDF letter of your choice
  • Yarn of your choice
  • 2 -12x12 cut squares for burlap
  • Glubers & Rhinestones
  • 2-1/2 “ x 24” strips of cotton fabric
  • Brass American Craft Brads
  • E6000 glue & Glue gun
  • Acrylic paint of your choice.

 Tools Needed

  • Sharp scissors
  • Foam brush
  • Sewing machine

 Instructions

1. Start with painting your unfinished frame with 2 coats acrylic paint

2. While your paint is drying cut the burlap fabric into 2 - 12x12 squares. Then sew them together leaving a 1/2 inch around the outside edge.

3. Take your 2 cotton strips of fabric and create your flowers using the Gluber directions.

4. Embellish your flowers with rhinestones

5. Then wrap your MDF letter with yarn using your glue gun to hold the yarn in to place.

6. Once you have covered your letter with yarn add your Gluber flowers to your letter using E6000.

7. While that dries, take your burlap and add brads to the corners of your burlap, then glue the burlap into the wood frame using E6000.

8. Next glue your embellished yarn letter on top of the burlap, using E6000

9. Let dry for about 6 hours.
