Fabric Cork Board

 

 

 Shopping List

  • 12”x36” cork board
  • 12”x36” frame (take the glass out)
  • Fabric (size accordingly and get enough to pull tightly around board)
  • Home...where your story begins vinyl
  • Rectangular wooden panel
  • Light colored scrapbook paper
  • Tim Holtz mini knobs (comes in a package)
  • Thumb tacks
  • E-6000 Glue & Glue Gun

Instructions

 1. Take your cork board and the fabric of your choice.  Cover board in fabric.  Pull tightly.  Cut off excess fabric on the back and trim the edges.  (Make sure to iron fabric before you start).

 2.  Pull fabric edges super tight.  Glue gun fabric on the back edge.  You can also use a staple gun if you wish.

 3.  Once the cork board is covered, pop it into the 12”x36” frame. 

 4.  Take the rectangular wood panel, cut scrapbook paper (size  accordingly), and add your vinyl onto the paper you use.  Glue the back of the paper onto the wood using E-6000, set aside and let dry.  Once dry, glue the decorative panel onto the center of the frame.  Let dry.

 5. For decorative tacks, take thumb tacks and Tim Holtz knobs. 

Take a glue gun and add hot glue to the thumb tack surface.  Adhere the knob embellishment.  Continue until you have enough to use.
