Shopping List

• 1 yd fabric  (more if you wish to make bag larger)
• 2-1/2 yd ribbon or 3/8” cording thread

 Optional:  Trims such as ric-rac, lace, pom-poms, etc.

 Instructions

1. Trim fabric to approx 36” x width of fabric. Trim selvedges.

*Optional:  If you are going to embellish with trim, it is easier to do now, before sewing.

 2.  Fold fabric right sides together  (approx 22” x 36”).  Stitch the edges. Clip corners.

 3.  Press top edge under ¼”. Fold under 1” to form casing for cording.  Stitch along folded edge.

 4.  Thread cording or ribbon through opening in side seam. Knot ends together to keep cording from pulling out of the casing. Knot ends of cording to prevent fraying.
