FOR THE CLIP:
STEP ONE
Remove the spring from the wood slats of the jumbo clip, and paint the clip with off-white acrylic paint and let dry. You will need to do 2-3 coats and allow drying time in between.
STEP TWOCut two 2 ½ x 3 ¼” panels and two 2 ½ x 8 5/8” panels from the Dream Big patterned paper, and adhere the paper to the outside faces of the wooden slats. Clean up the edges with a file.
STEP THREE
Cut out five square shapes from the Think Big blue patterned paper (follow the pattern in the paper), and adhere the squares to the outer face of the wood slat.
STEP FOUR
Put the clip (wood slats and spring) back together.
STEP FIVE
Adhere the scroll Punchout to the front of the clip.
STEP SIX
Hand cut four leaf shapes from the Imagine green patterned paper. Sand the edges, gently roll the ends, & layer & adhere the leaf shapes to the clip.
FOR THE FLOWER:
STEP ONE
Use a circle cutter to cut out an 8” circle from the Be Free striped patterned paper.
STEP TWO
Cut around the outside edge of the panel with the decorative scissors to scallop the edge. When you get almost all the way around, start cutting inward, cutting in a spiral shape towards the center. Leave at least a 1 – 1 ¼” space between the scalloped edges.
STEP THREE
Gently bend the scalloped edges, and distress the edges with a sanding block, if desired.
STEP FOUR
Roll the scalloped strip from the outside inward, keeping it tight at the center. (You may need to run some double sided tape along the bottom edge here and there to keep the flower from unraveling.)
STEP FIVE
When you have finished rolling the scalloped strip, adhere the end and fold the bottom edges.
STEP SIX
Adhere the flower to the clip with a strong adhesive or hot glue gun. |
