1 strand of 14MM glass pearls (white), or 24 beads
1strand of 6MM glass pearls (white) or 10 beads
1 strand of 6MM glass pearls (aqua) or 12 beads
1 package of eye pins (silver)
1 package of 2in head pins
8 inches of cable chain (silver)
Five 6MM jump rings
One toggle clasp
Tools
Two chain nose pliers or one chain and one bent nose pliers
Round nose pliers
Side cutters
Directions
***Turning an eye loop> After loading a head pin or eye pin you will need to bend a 90 degree angle into the pin just above the bead using your chain nose pliers. Using your side cutters trim down the head pin to 5/16 of an inch from the 90 degree bend or approximately the width of your finger). Now, with your round nose pliers bend the tip of the wire using the middle of the pliers, up over and around until it touches the 90 degree elbow and looks like a lollipop, or the factory end of an eye pin.
- Begin by cutting 6 pieces of 1 inch chain, and 1 piece of 2 inch chain, set aside.
- To create each of the baubles for the focal section of the necklace, load each head pin with one 6mm pearl and turn an eye loop at the top. Repeat 22 times, 10 for the white pearls and 12 for the aqua pearls.
- To assemble the dangles, gently open the eye loop to the side and be careful not to compromise the integrity of the metal (it will also be easier to close). Add 2 white and 1 aqua bauble to a 1” piece of chain, leaving at least three lengths at the top for connecting to the necklace. Repeat to match.
- Repeat the same step again. Using 3 white pearls and 3 aqua pearls on a 1” piece of chain, create two of these.
- To create the center focal, use the remaining 6mm pearls and attach them to the 2” piece of chain. Set all bauble dangles aside.
- Begin your connection with the larger pearls using eye pins. The 12 pearls in the center of the necklace will need to have the bead caps added to both sides before you turn your eye loop. Open each eye loop (gently to the side) and connect to the next pearl’s eye loop, until you have linked all 24 of them together in a row.
- To attach the closure, connect at each end of your linked together pearls a 1” piece of chain (open the chain gently to the side, load, then close). Now connect one end of the toggle clasp to each piece of chain.
- To attach your dangle baubles, find the center of the necklace and use a jump ring to connect the 2” dangle to one of the eye loops. Repeat to connect the other 4 dangles (two to each side), between the next pearls.
