CHIPBOARD: Beyond the Basics
One hot trend in scrapbooking is chipboard... chipboard alphabets, shapes, albums, tags, and much more. If you love chipboard but are tired of the same 'ol techniques, check out some of these ideas! Since I LOVE alphabets, the techniques are shown on chipboard letters, but they can be used on any chipboard shapes your little heart desires.

- Paint chipboard with Making Memories Scrapbook Paint.
- Ink edges with Ranger Distress Ink.
- Coat chipboard with Dimensional Magic Glaze or Crystal Laquer.
- Mount chipboard onto patterned paper with inked edges.
- Embellish.

- Use Embellishment Glue Stick to adhere patterned paper to the chipboard.
- Use a craft knife to trim the paper flush with the chipboard. I highly recommend the Fiskars Fingertip Craft Knife.
- Ink edges of chipboard and paper with Ranger Distress Ink.
- Apply Art Institute Glitter to the top of the paper with a Stamp & Stick glue pad.

- Use Embellishment Glue Stick to adhere patterned paper to the chipboard.
- Use a craft knife to trim the paper flush with the chipboard. I highly recommend the Fiskars Fingertip Craft Knife.
- Ink edges of chipboard and paper with Ranger Distress Ink.
- Sand the edges with Basic Grey Distressing tools. Distress as little or as much as you'd like.
- Mount chipboard onto coordinating patterned paper. Ink the edges.

- Paint chipboard with Making Memories Scrapbook Paint.
- Ink edges with Ranger Distress Ink.
- Apply rub-on transfers on top of chipboard.

- Paint chipboard with Making Memories Scrapbook Paint.
- Use a stencil brush to stipple a contrasting color of paint over the first color.
- Brush a coat of Making Memories Sparkle Glaze over the dried paint.
- Punch a hole in the chipboard with a Crop A Dile tool.
- Attach embellishment with a brad.

- Paint chipboard with Ranger Crackle Paint. Allow to dry completely. Tip: paint a very thick coat of paint - even glob it on there - to get nice cracks.
- Using the same color of Ranger Distress Ink, apply ink all over the chipboard, really working the ink into the cracks.

- Paint chipboard with Making Memories Scrapbook Paint.
- Use Basic Grey Distressing tools to really distress the chipboard, removing a good amount of paint.
- Stamp desired images onto the surface of the chipboard.
