- Basic Grey "Sultry"
collection
- Bazzill Cardstock
- Making Memories Eyelets
- Title: K&Co Sparkle chipboard letters and Doodlebug rub on's
- Stickles for extra sparkle to flowers
Tools & Techniques:
- Crop-a-Dile "BIG-BITE" used to punch holes and to set eyelets.
- Edges of papers inked
with Cat's Eye in pads
Directions
Gather and cut all your paper:
-
Take Swanky print from Basic Grey "Sultry" collection, ink around all four edges with brown ink. This sheet won't be cut. Set aside.
-
Take Uptown print from Basic Grey "Sultry" collection, trim off 3" from TOP of paper (Note you'll want the TOP 3" for this strip for layout design). Ink all edges with Green Cat's eye then lightly go over edges with brown ink as well. Set aside.
-
Take remaining
Uptown print and cut out photo mat for 5x7 photo. Keep in mind pattern placement and avoid any
areas you may wish to use on other projects.
Ink edges of mat with green Cat's Eye ink as well as ink edges lightly
with brown ink.
-
Take Green Bazzill
with an edge (large scallop), trim to 8x7. Keep in mind when trimming
you'll want the scalloped edge to be along the LEFT and TOP side of the cut. Next
ink scalloped edges with green Cats Eye ink, and flat side edge with brown.
-
Trim .5" edge from brown Bazzill with and edge (small
scallop) cardstock. Cut to 9.5"
long. Again when trimming to 9.5" keep mind the rounded edge will be on the LEFT
side while the flat edge will be along the RIGHT side of the layout. (See
sample photo) Take Crop-a-dial II "BIG BITE" and punch holes using large (3/16)
hole punch in EACH scallop.
Assemble layout
base:
Take full sheet of
Swanky print and turn so color/area of print is in desired location. In sample I placed the pink area of paper in
the upper left corner. (brown flower on pattern in pink area used in later step
for placement of chipboard flower).
Adhere Green
scalloped Bazzill with an edge along right side 1" from top.
Take strip of
Uptown print and adhere horizontally 1.5" from bottom of layout. This will
overlap the green scalloped paper some.
Adhere brown strip
of small scalloped Bazzill with an edge along bottom edge of Uptown strip
(butted up along the right side of layout).
See sample photo for placement.
2. Place matted photo in center of green Bazzill with an edge (bottom two inches will overlap Uptown strip). Next measure .5" away from photo mat and lightly
pencil dots .5" apart all the way around perimeter of photo mat. Then take Crop-a-Dial II "BIG BITE" and punch holes .5" apart (all the way around). Do NOT
set eyelets yet.
3. From Basic
Grey "Sultry" Chip Sticker pack take "Love is the poetry..." chipboard phrase
from pack and ink around all edges with brown ink. Peel off back and position in bottom left
corner of photo (2.75" of chipboard will be off photo while remaining portion
of chipboard phrase will be overlapping photo). See sample layout photo for
proper position.
4. Take Crop-a-dial II "BIG BITE" and NOW set eyelets in all exposed holes around photo.
5. From Basic Grey "Sultry" Chip sticker pack, select chipboard embellishments. With Crop-a-Dile II BIG BITE, punch a large
hole (3/16) in center of chipboard sticker flower. Set 3/16 eyelet. Remove backing of chipboard flower sticker
and place on Swanky paper 1.5" from top and 1.75" from left side. With rotation
of Swanky paper as it is in sample layout (pink area in left upper corner) this
should fall right on top of brown flower printed on paper. Add Crystal
stickles in center of hole for extra sparkle. Position last chip sticker
embellishment over pink stripe on strip of Uptown paper near printed flowers.
See sample for placement. Add stickles to center of printed flowers on strip of
Uptown paper.
6. Place title in open area on Swanky patterned paper using Chipboard letters of your choice,
Basic Grey "Sultry" stickers and Doodlebug rub-ons. For Doodlebug rub-ons: rub
onto strips of Uptown patterned paper...then trim down around each word. Ink edges of all title pieces with green and
brown ink. See sample photo.
7. Check to see if Stickles is dry. When it is turn layout over and place pink Bazzill cardstock over all eyelet holes so "pink" shows through the front.
