Judges' Notes:
"Techniques, Color, layered style…oh my! There is a softness and gentle nature to each of Jessica’s
projects. Jessica has the ability to take a collection of coordinating
products and make it uniquely hers, giving each element attention all the while
keeping the focus on her subject matter. Jessica’s use of techniques is so fun; you can just imagine
her holding a piece of pattern paper and seeing hundreds of possibilities for
it."
My name is Jessica Barry and I'm from Yakima, WA. I have been married for 6 years and have 3 awesome kids. I work part time and have lived in Yakima my whole life. My other obsession is photography. My kids run at the sight of any camera!
I have been scrapbooking for 4 years. A friend of mine introduced me to scrapbooking and it has now turned into an obsession. My favorite technique is inking edges and altering chipboard, and I would say that my style is clean and balanced. Everything on my page has to balance out the layout.
If I was stranded on a remote island, I could not live without: patterned paper, my paper cutter, adhesive, brown ink, chipboard and, and…….oh you said small handful didn’t you...?!
My favorite thing about scrapbooking is the versatility. You can scrap about anything, using anything, on anything and it will usually always look good. The most important technique that I can share with you is to make sure that your photos are alawys the main attraction of your layout. Use embellishments wisely so they don't take away from the photos.
