Judges' Notes:

"Check out the LO with 6 photos on it “at the beach”  It’s really gutsy to submit a layout with so many photos on it for a Design Team because it doesn’t leave a lot of room to show off scrappy techniques or products. But not only did Sarah pull it off, she did it in a way that blew us away. It’s wicked smart of her to pair these beachy photos with pink- totally the right move. We love all the fun ways Sarah finds to journal, and mixes titles with her journaling. Her clean designs with just the right amount of ‘splash’ combined with her excellent eye for color theory make her one fabulous Scrapper!"

Sarah Buhler

My name is Sarah and I’m a 30-year-old single chick living my life in my hometown of Corvallis.  Things I love: spending time with my friends and family, Mexican food, the color blue, chocolate, polka dots, shopping at Target, laughing, watching way too much TV, flip flops, coffee, alphabet scrapbook products, the beach and my “I’m not fat, I’m just big-boned” cat Newton!

I have been scrapbooking since 1996 and I love sharing my art with others.  I enjoy seeing what others have created, learning about their lives through their scrapbooks or art journals.  I love that there aren’t really any "rules" to scrapbooking . . . it can be artsy and funky, or graphic and simple.  Everyone has their own unique styles.

Speaking of styles, I don’t really feel that I have one set style.  I love to do complex pages with lots of embellishments or hand cutting shapes or flowers out of pattern paper.  Sometimes I like to get messy and use tons of ink and paint.  Other times I love to do the simple pages with lots of white space.  I guess it just depends on my mood or the subject of the scrapbook page!

Right now my favorite technique is stitching - my layouts just don’t feel finished until there’s a bit of stitching on them! If I was stranded on a remote island and only had a few scrapbook products, I would take adhesive/glue, some kind of alphabet stamps or stickers and a nice big stack of patterned paper!
