Official Rules

1. No purchase necessary
2. Competition is open to all who are legal residents of Oregon, Washington or Idaho. Winners of the 2007 Scrapbook Queen Contest are not eligible.
3. The competition begins July 18, 2008,  and ends August 17, 2008.
4. To enter, please submit your best scrapbook layout. All entries must be submitted via our online gallery no later than August 17, 2008. One entry per person. See the FAQ's for submission instructions.
5. For the purpose of this contest, digital layouts are not accepted. Layouts my be a single page or a 2-page spread.
6. Submissions must be the sole work of the entrant. All submissions must be original work and not have won any previous awards, or infringe on any third-party rights.
7. A total of ten (10) Scrapbook Queens will be chosen, with one winner coming from each Craft Warehouse store and one Craft Warehouse employee. Winners will be chosen by 50% public vote and 50% judge’s vote. A Grand Prize winner will be chosen from the nine (9) customer Scrapbook Queens.
8. Public voting will take place August 18—24  online at www.craftwarehouse.com. Each person may vote for one (1) person from each Craft Warehouse store, plus one (1) employee.
9. The top 50% of vote getters in each category will be judged by a panel of scrapbooking experts August 25—28. If a store has less than 5 entrants, all entries will be judged by the expert panel. The winner will be announced in each store on September 6, 2008, at 1:00 pm.
10. Participants agree to be bound by these rules and the decision of the judges and public, whose decisions are final.
11. All entries and requests become the property of Craft Warehouse and will not be acknowledged or returned. Craft  Warehouse has the right to photograph the winners and allows Craft Warehouse to use the winner’s name, picture,  likeness and city and state of residence for purposes of trade,  publicity or promotion for no additional compensation. Submission constitutes entrant’s consent (or that of their parent/legal guardian) to permanently assign to Craft Warehouse any and all rights to submission, including, but not limited to, intellectual property rights. Submission grants Craft Warehouse the right to publish, produce, use, adapt, edit and/or modify the submission and work hereafter in any way and in any and all media, without limitation and without compensation to the entrant.
12. If you are legally a resident of Oregon, Washington or Idaho and are under the age of majority, then your parent or legal guardian must also include their contact information on the back of each submission piece. They will also be required to provide parental permission and releases on your behalf.
13. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.
14. The winners shall receive a $250 Craft Warehouse gift card.. The Grand Prize Winner shall receive a $250 Craft Warehouse gift card, for a total of $500 in gift cards. Gift cards may not be redeemed for cash.

2. How do I submit my work?

1. Log into the Craft Warehouse website (scroll to the bottom of this page and enter your login and password information. If you do not have a login see how to create one in question #6).
2. Navigate to the Photo Gallery and click on the 2008 Scrapbook Queen Contest category. Once inside this category, you will see the store sub-categories. Choose the store you are entering your submission and click on it.
3. Click on the User Panel link in the upper left corner.
4. Click on the "New Picture" button.
5. Give your photo a title. It can be anything you want.
6. For the category field, drop down the menu and look for the 2008 Scrapbook Queen Contest>>Your store location. THIS IS IMPORTANT! Be sure you select the correct gallery to put your picture in!
7. You can write a description if you like.
8. Click the first browse button. This will open a dialog box. Find your file on your computer and click open.
9. Click the "Upload" button near the bottom.
10. If your picture is uploaded, you will get a box that pops up and says "Picture uploaded successfully".

NOTE: The maximum size of the file you upload cannot exceed  2000000 bytes (1.953,13 KB) or (1.9 MB). If it's too big, see Question #10 on how to re-size your photo.

 Voting will begin August 18th, 2008 at 8am and will close on August 24th, 2008 at midnight.

1. To cast your vote, you must have a Craft Warehouse username and password (see question #6 for instructions on how to set one up).
2. Log into the website and navigate to the Photo Gallery webpage.
3. Click on the 2008 Scrapbook Queen Contest Gallery folder. Inside, you will find folders for each store location. You can click on any of these folders to begin.
4. Once inside a store location folder, browse through the images. You can vote for any image by rating it 1 - 5, 5 being the highest score. Although there will only be one winner for each store category, you can technically rate every entry, giving your favorites 5's and your lesser favorites 4's, 3's, and so on. The winner will be chosen by the average overall score.
5. You can vote for your favorites for ALL store locations.

4. When will winners be announced?

Winners will be announced live at each store location on Saturday, September 6th, 2008 at 1:00pm. Winners need not be present to win.

6. How do I create an account on www.craftwarehouse.com?

1. Scroll to the bottom of any page on our website. 
2. Click on the "Register" link.
3. Fill out the form on the next page. You must use a valid email address that is not already registered on our site (if it's already registered, please contact us to get your username/password).
4. After registering, you MUST check your email account to for a confirmation email. Follow the link in this email to confirm and activate your account. (If you do not receive the confirmation email, check your junk or spam folder. Contact us at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it   if you still cannot find it.)

7. Can I enter the contest if I won the 2007 Craft Warehouse Scrapbook Queen Contest?

If you won a prize in the 2007 Craft Warehouse Scrapbook Queen Contest, you are uneligible to enter this year. This includes all store winners AND the grand prize winner.

8. What if I live near multiple stores? Or no stores at all?

Choose the store you frequent most often and enter at that store location. If you don't live near any store (but still live in Oregon, Washington or Idaho), pick a store within your state.

10. What if my file is too big and won't upload? How do I resize my photo?

 If your photo is too big to upload, you can resize it using your favorite photo editing software. Most computers have Microsoft Office Picture Manager, which we reccomend. To resize using this program, 

1. Right click your file and choose "Open with..." select Microsoft Office Picture Manager.
2. Click on File -->  Export. A menu will open on the right side of the screen.
3. Click the dropdown menu called Export using this size. Choose the Web-Large (640 px x 480 px). Click OK. This will replace your original file with a new size that should be uploadable. We reccomend this size (640x480 pixels) so that your work can be judged equally.
